Featured Cruise Line: Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival offers a choice of itineraries, from two- to 17-days, to worldwide destinations, including the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, Bermuda, Europe, New England and the Canadian Maritimes. In 2006, several new sailings will be offered from all along the Eastern Coast to the new ports of call. The line, which was formed in 1972, is celebrating over 35 years of offering its passengers fun. However, "Today's Carnival" is a vastly different company than the one started from humble beginnings three decades ago. Carnival was launched with a converted Transatlantic ocean liner and a dream of entrepreneur Ted Arison, a pioneer in the modern-day cruise industry, who set out to realize his vision of making a vacation experience once reserved for the very rich accessible to the average person. The rest, as they say, is history. more

Featured Ship: River Ambassador

River Ambassador is a small river ship sailing the Rhine and Main Rivers for Uniworld Cruises. Built in 1993 and refurbished in 2006, the 361 foot River Ambassador hosts 128 guests. The lavishly appointed river view staterooms have hotel-style beds draped in fine linens, a vanity, built-in closets, hair dryer, safe, individual thermostat for air conditioning and heat, direct-dial telephone, flat-screen TV with satellite, bottled water, and bathroom with L'Occitane body products, magnifying mirror, and plush bathrobes. Uniworld ships offer wi-fi service on board. Uniworld ships are staffed by a world-class, award-winning all English-speaking staff. Another popular feature is complimentary use of bicycles and Nordic walking sticks in port. Public areas onboard include the beautiful panoramic main lounge which has a full-service bar, a cozy library and game room, as well as an elegant restaurant. more

Featured Destination: Alaska - Cruise and Land

People go to Alaska to see four things: Wilderness, Wildlife, Glaciers, and Mountains. An Alaska Cruise and Land Tour (Cruisetour) is the best way to see all this and more. Cruisetours combine the best of both worlds: a relaxing cruise experience and an adventurous land tour taking you into the heart of Alaska by train and/or motorcoach. Alaska is 2 ½ times the size of Texas and a cruise just touches only a small fraction of all there is to see. A cruisetour takes you into the heart and interior of Alaska allowing you to see the Wildlife, Wilderness, and Mountains up close. Cruisetours range from 9 to 21 nights depending upon how long you'd like to be away and what you'd like to see. You can choose to take a Northbound cruise first and then begin your land tour, or you can do the land portion first and then the cruise at the end. Either way, there's an itinerary for every interest and budget. more
